Latines are fighting for reproductive justice: for ourselves, our families, and our communities!

Access to abortion, birth control, and other forms of reproductive healthcare allows us all to lead safe, healthy, self-determined lives—no matter who we are or where we come from. As the only Latina-led, multi-entity, power-building Reproductive Justice organization in Colorado, COLOR works to advance reproductive justice for everyone in our state.

We know that Latines are the engine of our economy. We work hard and do our best to take care of our families and communities, including taking care of our health. Yet too often, our community faces barriers to accessing the care we need, especially when it comes to reproductive healthcare like abortion and birth control.

We should all be free to decide what’s best for our own lives, bodies, and futures.

Join COLOR and help us build power and fight for a future where reproductive justice is possible for all Latines.

Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity and Reproductive Rights (COLOR) is a community-rooted nonprofit organization that works to enable Latine individuals and their families to lead safe, healthy, self-determined lives.

So what have we achieved? Here’s just a small sample of COLOR’s recent successes:

Since 2022, Colorado’s Reproductive Health Care Program covers birth control, basic fertility services, STI and cancer screenings, and more for free through our state’s Medicaid program for all immigrants, regardless of documentation. We championed this program because it addresses obstacles that our undocumented communities face in getting the contraception they need to plan their families, and lays the groundwork to improve access for those who face additional barriers to care. Access to a full range of sexual and reproductive health services is critical to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Our work spans the past, present, and future because multi-generational caretaking is how we thrive. That’s why in 2022 we looked ahead to possible threats to our reproductive freedoms and took action to lead in the fight for the Reproductive Health Equity Act to ensure statutory protections for abortion. As relentless attacks on abortion were underway across the country, we moved proactively to protect the right to abortion in Colorado.
Our communities need timely and competent care, not misinformation from clinics that use disinformation, intimidation, shame, and delay tactics to withhold essential and time-sensitive reproductive healthcare. That’s why we pushed for – and won – better regulation of anti-abortion centers, also known as crisis pregnancy centers or “fake clinics,” that are not subject to the same licensing or regulation requirements as legitimate abortion clinics/providers.

This is reproductive justice in action as we build safer, healthier communities where everyone gets the information and care they need.

Together, we’re building power to secure our community’s future – a future where everyone can get quality care, without financial burdens or shame. We’re working for Coloradans by removing barriers and expanding access to abortion, birth control, and all forms of reproductive care.
